Erasmus+ has been in existence since the 1980s and grown to such a large scale that nowadays, the programme takes 1.2 million participants (2022 figures) on extraordinary experiences abroad.  In fact, Erasmus+ has given 14 million the chance to gain qualifications and move forward with better career prospects. An EU initiative, even today, it continues to go from strength to strength, delivering exceptional opportunities for students and learners across Europe, and even beyond.  Don’t miss out on working, studying and living in a different country for a period of time, get in touch with our team to learn about what an Erasmus+ /or Turing Scheme programme if you’re a UK student or learner) can do for you.  Meanwhile, find out what’s new for Erasmus+ in our interesting article below.

  • Erasmus+ continues to expand its availability for students who want to extend their learning.  It provides countless education, training youth and sport activities and courses, including more than 26,000 projects with 73,000 organisations involved – that’s huge!
  • There are many experiences available for students from school right through to higher education (including vocational education) but not only that, did you know that Erasmus+ is also available for adult learners, educators and staff?  No matter how old you are, you could benefit from one of these extraordinary experiences.
  • In 2024, to cope with rising inflation and make sure that students and learners can benefit, Erasmus+ will offer greater mobility grants.  As the grants covers accommodation and other living expenses, Erasmus+ is more accessible than ever before, with plenty of additional support for disadvantaged and disabled students and learners.
  • Green travel and being more sustainable has been one of Erasmus+’s goals for a while – and 2024 will see greater focus on this initiative.  Participants will be expected to choose Green travel options wherever possible to counter the effects of the environment.  However, where Green travel is not available, it doesn’t mean that these places will be removed, far from it, there will be increased support for participants who live in difficult to access areas so they can still benefit from an Erasmus+ experience

  • The programme remains in line with European values, especially focussing on human dignity, respect, tolerance, understanding, democracy, equality and respect for human rights.  These values are aligned with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
  • Due to the Ukraine/Russia war, Erasmus+ continues to support Ukraine and help students in the country experience mobilities.  Furthermore, Erasmus+ will continue to counter the effects of disinformation and false news surrounding the Ukraine.
  • As expected, Erasmus+ will continue to provide as many opportunities as possible for mobilities across all areas.  It will also support its own priorities which are inclusion, diversity, active citizenship, democratic participation, Green initiatives and digital advancement.
