Erasmus+ is a European programme enabling students, pupils and learners to travel and work abroad through specialist funding, find out what SEG, the School Education Gateway is here. Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme for pupils, students and learners in higher education and other educational establishment, designed to facilitate learning experiences in other countries. Those embarking on an Erasmus+ programme can spend anything from 2 days to 2 weeks, 30 days or even a year abroad, depending on the type of project in question.
Erasmus+ works by providing free movement and education exchanges between registered universities and institutions for eligible students. For some, Erasmus+ might be a requirement to as part of a college course or degree. Sometimes, pupils just want to do a programme to experience another country.
For Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Candidates
Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships, etc) abroad for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in programme countries at Bachelor and Master level, as well as for Doctorate candidates.
The School Education Gateway and European Youth Portal
The School Education Gateway is a European online Erasmus+ platform for teachers, school leaders, researchers, teacher educators, policy makers and other professionals working in the field of school education, including early childhood education and care (ECEC) and vocational education and training (VET). This project is an initiative of the European Union, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Education Gateway (SEG) and the European Youth Portal offers virtual collaboration spaces, partner-finding in the field of Erasmus+. The School Education Gateway is a platform for teachers, schools, experts and others to find information on school education news, trends, policies, initiatives and activities, and for those involved to contribute by addressing important issues with peers.
Why Use The School Education Gateway?
- TO UPDATE AND LEARN. There’s new content updated every week, including expert opinions, news, interviews, updated publications and examples of practices.
- FINDING RESOURCES. Such as latest research reports, teaching materials created within European projects and training courses, and the European Toolkit for Schools, with materials on preventing early school leaving and a self-assessment tool to help develop a pupil’s path through education in school.
- TO GROW PROFESSIONALLY. With “Teacher Academy”, which offers free online courses, developed by in-house experts, as well as webinars and teaching materials.
- TO UNDERSTAND THE TOPIC OF FUNDING. Through Erasmus+ Opportunities, for schools that must prepare Erasmus+ applications.
The School Education Gateway is a service available in 23 European languages.
