Erasmus+ is the EU’s special scheme for young people. It offers them the unique opportunity of travelling, working and studying in a city outside of their home country – covering most of Europe. All countries involved in this scheme offer funding through each government, allowing students and learners from all backgrounds (including disadvantaged backgrounds) to experience the adventure of a lifetime.

What About The Turing Scheme?

The Turing Scheme belongs to the UK who used to be a member of the Erasmus+ programme but left following Brexit. The UK then set up their own scheme, for UK students (and British overseas territories’ students). It is very similar except that it offers opportunities outside of Europe, as well as inside Europe.

Why Should You Consider an Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme Adventure?

Participating in an Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme experience provides incredible lifechanging experiences, improves language skills, independence, forges better European relationships and even creates more employment opportunities later on. This is because employers like to see these types of experiences on applicants’ CVs.

Why Now is the Time to Apply for One of These Schemes

The time to apply for Erasmus+ or The Turing Scheme has never been better because the demand for international training and 21st century skills is dramatically accelerating. Some say that it has gone through the roof! It is especially crucial because there are so many young people unemployed, finding it difficult to secure jobs nowadays.

Funding for Erasmus+ and The Turing Scheme

Furthermore, Erasmus+ and The Turing Scheme funding for training and teaching has never been more accessible. There are a couple of reasons for this:

  • Firstly, there’s still budget left over from previous years because existing projects have already secured their money in place already so it’s unlikely that they’ll apply for further in 2024. This means there’s more space for new applicants.
  • There’s another reason too. The funding amounts have been doubled so there’s lots of space to create new projects across Europe.
