An Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme study placement abroad could be at a school, college or university but wherever yours is, getting a high enough qualification is crucial, especially if you want to get on the career ladder quickly!  Research shows that students with an Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme qualification are more likely to be employed in their first year post-studying and often climb the ladder quickly than students who haven’t benefitted from the opportunity.  If you want to excel, try our recommended study tools as listed below.

1. Bring Sticky Notes With You

Small and useful, sticky notes are great when you want to reference important information.  Keep them handy, mark pages in your text books and write notes directly onto them, so when you come to revise, your memory is quickly triggered.  Another way to use them is to write facts onto them and stick them around your room or apartment.  That way, they’ll catch your eye, you’ll read the note and it’s more likely to stay in mind.

2. Take a Small Book Light

Useful if you’re sharing a room or a dorm.  Your room-mate might want to go to sleep but you may prefer to study, so what do you do without disturbing their shut-eye time?  A small light helps you to see your computer, your books and your hands, so you can write to your heart’s content without disturbing anyone.

3. Use Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Following on from above, if you’re sharing a dorm, a room or even an apartment and you prefer to study in silence, noise-cancelling headphones can be a God-send.  Not only will they shut out any noise around you and help you focus but they’re also good when you want to listen to your own loud music, without disturbing your house mates.  These are a must-buy!

4. Try an AI Homework App

OK, this may be cheating slightly but what do you do when you’re completely stuck and there’s a language barrier as well?  Try an AI-powered homework app.  Socratic is fantastic for helping solve difficult mathematical problems for example.  You can download it from the Apple store by clicking here.  All you do is take a photograph of the question you’re struggling with and let the app explain how to do it.

5. Buy a Lightning USB Cable

If you’re studying in a coffee shop and there’s no seat near a plug point then what do you do if you don’t have enough charge for your phone and you’re using it as a study tool?  Here’s the answer, a lightning USB cable will help you quickly recharge your phone, so you don’t have to waste precious time going back home to put your phone back on its charger.  Keep one handy but remember to charge it up in-between uses!
