If you thought that TravelEdventures was just about sending students and learners from schools, colleges, universities (or other educational institutions) on valuable work/study placements abroad, then think again! Our company also helps various industries by filling important roles, pulling workers from other EU countries especially in the construction industry. In fact, for many years we’ve aided the construction industry in Austria with our extra-special Skilled Worker Scheme.
The construction industry in particular constantly gains large contracts – and often, it’s hard to fill all the positions, especially in countries like Austria and Germany, but we’re always here to help!
For example, a recent Austrian construction business gained a huge contract but didn’t have enough skilled workers to ensure the project would run to time, or smoothly. So, they turned to TravelEdventures, and we managed to fill the vacant positions with a selection of skilled workers from Poland thanks to our connections.
Austria is a country that struggles with filling construction vacancies, which hampers the industry. When potential clients want something completed in Austria, they find that the wait time is sometimes up to a year because of the shortage of skilled construction workers. This problem massively slows down what should be a flourishing industry. It also impacts the cost of construction and local companies charge an inordinate amount of money for what should be priced at significantly less. This is because some people are prepared to pay more to get their building project moved to the top of the list!
Many construction companies now turn to us – because we have valuable connections and work in 27 European countries. We know how to source the right workers and we’re reliable too. Not only does this help the Austrian construction industry (as well as Germany and some other central European countries) but it benefits other workers outside of their home country. For example, we bring a lot of Polish construction workers over to Austria and that helps them too because their economy is currently not as strong as it has been in the past. They might be struggling to find work and working in Austria means a guaranteed income for a set period of time that’s often higher than what they were being paid in their home country. Furthermore, Polish workers are notoriously cheaper than workers in Austria, Germany and other European countries – which is an added bonus for their employers!
So – while we do a lot of Erasmus+ and Turing Scheme placements, there’s so much more to TravelEdventures! If you’re looking for skilled workers, why not ask us about our connections by getting in touch here?
