The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme that provides funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. It replaces the Erasmus+ programme (which still exists for EU countries). The Turing Scheme supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations from the higher education, further education, vocational education and training and schools sectors to offer their students, learners and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad. The Turing Scheme funding offers many tremendous benefits, both for schools and pupils.
Taking Part In Skills’ Competitions
If you are a school or place of learning, The Turing Scheme offers you the chance to give your students or learners the experience of what it’s like to participate in skills’ competitions by competing with other vocational students across the world.
Take your inter-college or regional competitions internationally! You could work with other FE and VET providers across the world to set up skills’ competitions to help your learners improve their vocational skills and prepare to become potential UK gold medallists of the future!
Further education (FE) and vocational education and training (VET) funding can give your learners the chance to learn and work abroad. You can apply for funding to send your learners to participate in study and work placements abroad, which can bring life-changing benefits to those involved.
Competitions can either be arranged through a third party, such as a recognised skills competition provider or directly by the FE or VET applicant, provided that the competition activity meets the objectives and criteria as set out by The Turing Scheme. Eligible colleges can apply for funding to send participants to skills competitions abroad for up to 10 days.
