The Erasmus+ Programme is a real European success story, consistently identified as one of the most powerful initiatives of the EU. Since its inception in 1987, the programme has expanded considerably. The Project Managers’ Responsibilities
Project managers are responsible for overseeing almost every aspect of the Erasmus+ project construction process. Therefore, it is important to be sure that they are setting themselves up for success! 1. IDENTIFYING TARGETS NEEDS
Good project managers don’t just assume that they already know what the needs of their target groups when it comes to the project at hand. They ensure that suitable solutions are built into the plan, while uncovering issues as early on as possible.
2. PLANNING
Erasmus+ project planning is easily one of the most critical steps of project management and therefore cannot be overlooked. Building a comprehensive plan for the project allows the project manager to break the project down into achievable stages.
3. MONITORING
The planning stage helps the project manager set out the goals for each stage because in doing so, the project manager is to able to break each stage down. As in all goals, being measurable is what ensures success. Continuous monitoring is key. The start-up phase of any project is vital. It sets the itinerary for monitoring and measuring the metrics developed in the plan to track progress. This helps to maintain the schedule and stay on-budget.
4. COMMUNICATION
The key is to clearly communicate expectations, which is why Erasmus+ project managers need to be master communicators! Being able to utilise all available tools to accurately define goals, expectations and effectively document these conversations is, in the end, what truly defines a great project manager!
5. COLLABORATION
The last key element for success in project management is knowing how to leverage knowledge and experience. The truly smart person looks for understanding and learning in every interaction, and they proactively listen to understand.
