When I was young and started primary school, I have never imagined that travelling and learning about other cultures would have such an impact on me. Why go anywhere else when you can have fun at home?
I remember I was 8 years old when I first saw the luminous peaks of the High Tatras in Slovakia, which was special because my family couldn't afford to spend a week in such a wonderful place. I was enchanted by the fragrant fresh grass, the gentle trickle of the clear stream, and in every moment, we were waiting - or rather dreading - to meet a bear, but of course we were given useful advice how should we pretend to be dead.
The school I went has done its utmost to make this one week memorable, and every year from then, we were enchanted by the most beautiful landscapes in Slovakia. At that time there was no Erasmus+ or Turing programme.
And many years after traveling has become a full part of my life. Not only because the sea and the mountains became a selected magical member of my little world, but also because I wondered how people live elsewhere:
Do they eat the same things for breakfast as I do? Do they drink coffee the same way? What is their task a day at the office?
And what are the activities they like to do every day?
And then 5 years ago I was introduced to the Erasmus+ funding opportunities, which has painted a totally authentic picture for me, and I felt that this was ‘the possibility ‘that everyone should take advantage of.
I have realised that it is not just about starting an Erasmus+ programme, it is more about being a part of the European culture and community, it is also about pulsating with all the participants in the Erasmus+ internship programme, getting to know each other's customs, pushing boundaries for removing fears and developing a part of everyone that will invisibly stand into the everyday life.
To become an independent and tolerant young adult.
We at TravelEdventures will help you to decide which programme is the best for the school and the students.
You can dive into the world of work experience or stick to the internship-based programmes, each with an important purpose:
The experience of the last 5 years has shown me that quality programmes are more important than quantity activities, and anything is possible if you have confidence to be open-minded and have a courage to try new situations.
Because this experience now will give you the energy for your adult life.
For me, I had to find my own Erasmus,
For You, we help You to find Your own.
