Please find below the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the Erasmus+ programme.

Are African countries, African government agencies or institutions eligible for Erasmus+ funding?

Organisations from most countries in the world, including most African countries, can take part in the Erasmus+ programme. Eligibility varies from opportunity to opportunity, so it is best to check the information in the relevant programme guide

I'm a non-EU citizen – can I still take part in the programme?

Individuals from North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, or the UK can participate in most opportunities as these countries are all Erasmus+ programme countries. For individuals from other non-EU countries there are some opportunities, such as Erasmus Mundus.

I want to participate in the Erasmus+ programme, but I cannot find a National Agency in my country. What can I do?

National Agencies are only available in the programme countries section. If you cannot find a National Agency and you are an individual, it is best to contact your education, training, youth or sport institution or organisation.

How do I calculate the travel distance to determine the level of grant support for individuals?

You can use the Distance Calculator tool on the Erasmus+ official website to do this. All distances are displayed as a straight line. This tool is not designed for individuals to determine how much they may receive through funding. Funding amounts are dependent on various factors, including administrative costs incurred by participating organisations and the National Agencies. The final decision for the amount of grant related to travel distance will be made by the National Agency assessing the application.

Where can I find application forms for Erasmus+?

The application processes for Erasmus+ vary, depending on which strand of funding you are applying for and whether the funding opportunity is managed by your National Agency.
